Great job in Vegas to everyone who competed! Paragon smashed the tournament, with many of our grapplers taking medals in multiple categories. Here are some of the results: Katie Weilbacher took 3rd in the open. Bill Cooper took first in the no-gi pro division. Lance Castillo took first in both gi and no gi intermediate. Fabio took first in gi, Milton took second in no-gi. The list doesn’t stop: Jacob Sandoval took second in no-gi and first in gi. John Sandoval smashed, taking first in no-gi. Morgan Mainz took first in gi, Tomas Castelo looked good in his first tournament as a blue belt taking 3rd in gi. Nate took first in no-gi and second in gi, as well as second in the open. I’m pretty sure we took first as a team, just look at this list. Hopefully we’ll get some pics up here soon.
Competition is an important part of jiu-jitsu, and we encourage you guys to come check out tournaments and start competing early. Each time you compete you find things to work on and fine tune and it helps you develop a well-rounded and complete game. There are many big tournaments starting in the new year, so let’s keep train hard!
