After the ceremony we are all going to Union Ale at 7 PM at 214 State Street. There’s gonna be tons of food and lots to drink, so bring your friends and enjoy the merriment! BOOM!

Alright, everyone, word has come down that the following promotions are going down on JULY 31ST at Paragon Headquarters in Santa Barbara, CA. Following the ceremony, we will all be going to UNION ALE at 214 STATE STREET for the official Paragon Promotion Party (more info to follow). Ben Askren Seminar!

Guys, we are fortunate to have Div 1 wrestler and 2008 US Nationals champion Ben Askren in town! On Monday the 19th, Ben will be doing a wrestling workshop at 7 pm. Ben is an incredible wrestler who is also an accomplished grappler and mixed martial artist. Check out his page here. For you numbskulls, here’s the deal.

What: Wrestling workshop.

Where: Paragon Headquarters in Santa Barbara!

This is a great opportunity for us to work on our wrestling with one of wrestling’s big names. Remember, wrestling is a big part of the jiu jitsu game, both gi and no-gi. Its a chance to get your questions about single-legs, double-legs, wizzer fighting, AND MUCH MORE, answered!

Advanced Class and South Bay

Guys, there are a lot of tournaments coming up in late summer, and our advanced classes have been empty! We need to get back together and start training hard! Stop slackin’ and get back in here. I want to see all our higher belts together, even if you don’t plan on competing, get in here and help our guys! Some of you white belts who have been here longer (one year or more) should be training double in the evening too. Come to the beginner and stay for the advanced. If you’ve been waiting for an invitation, here it is. SHOW UP MAN.

In other news, South Bay is coming up, and we want to take a big team down there to smash. That means whites, blues and purples! Registration ends on the 21st, register here. If you are interested in competing, talk to me or any of the instructors!

Paragon Youth Camp!

Our first camp this summer was a huge success, thanks to the great effort of both the students and the staff! The Black team won the team points award, but our final tournament was split with three first place finishes by the Red team and three first places by the Black team. This year we were able to use the pool at Ortega Park, which was a great break from the mats. To check out pics from the week, visit our facebook page here. There is still time to register for our second camp, August 9-13, but spaces are filling quick! The application is online at our website.

As many of you know, Worlds has begun. Mundials is the biggest tournament of our sport, so if you have the time, get down to Long Beach to check it out. If you need info, go here.

As such, we will be closed this Sunday the 6th.

For everyone who is competing at Mundials, do not be alarmed if you are listed under Team Alliance. We are part of the same team at these big tournaments, and having as many good grapplers fighting together as possible helps us to continue Alliance’s domination of the Worlds!
